When you complete five
enrichment trainings, or can prove equivalency you will earn the
enrichment pin. You can earn more than one enrichment pin.
Bias Awareness/Equity
This three-hour training module is the first step towards reaching
our goal of having
a membership that reflects the diversity of the Canadian population. The
training is designed to offer a starting point for Guiders in the
challenge of providing a program that is inclusive and welcoming to a
diverse group of girls.
Building Strong Teams This three hour module is designed to give
you an understanding of what a team is and how it works and provide you
with the skills to improve the teams you lead and/or are a member of.
Conflict Management.
This three hour module is designed to help you develop a personal
understanding of
conflict: causes, symptoms and solutions. You will learn five
skills to effectively manage conflict whenever and wherever it arises
Cookie Training Module
This two hour training will give you a chance to learn about the
history of cookies and how the profits are spent. You will discuss the
Unit Guider role and the role of the girls. You will learn how
cookies tie into your programming and how to draw up your own
comprehensive cookie sales plan.
Dramatic Arts This
three hour module is designed to help you understand the importance of
including dramatic arts in your regular program and introduce you to
some of the possible styles of dramatic arts that could be used in your
program
Effective Communication.
This three hour module is designed to help you build your communication
skills and use these skills to work more efficiently with other people.
Event Planning.
This four hour module is designed to introduce you to the process of
event planning and give you the opportunity to plan an event that could
be used in Guiding.
Financial
Management. This three hour module is designed to help you learn
about the process of Financial Management
and gain the opportunity to practice in a hands-on environment using the
appropriate forms.
Girls
United - Helping Girls Connect in Healthy Ways (anti bullying). This
module is intended to provide you with:
• An introduction to the dynamics of girls’ relationships.
• Age-appropriate strategies for promoting healthy relationships.
Guiding and the Promise and
Law This two and half hour module is designed to help you understand
the Promise and Law on a personal level and help you develop ways to
build the Promise and Law into all your unit activities
Mentor Training. This three hour module is intended to provide you
with the opportunity to learn about the National Mentoring Program and
understand the role you will play as a mentor and explore the skills
necessary for a successful
partnership
Time Management This three hour module is designed to give you
skills and knowledge to effectively manage the time you spend Guiding
and help you use these skills to make your work within Guiding more
enjoyable.
Understanding the Adult
Learner - This module is intended to provide you with an
introduction to:
principles
of adult learning, learning preferences,
your
role in facilitating learning
Volunteer Management.
This three and a half hour module is designed to help you understand why
people volunteer, what
people want from volunteering and how you, as a team leader, can help
volunteers achieve these things in order to make them more productive
team members. it will also help you to understand the principles
behind targeted recruitment in order for you to be able to create a
workable plan that will enable you to fill a real, specific role on one
of your teams.
